Staying healthy is an important part of life but some places in the UK are better for this.

Data has found the unhealthiest place in England based on categories called healthy people, healthy lives and healthy places.

Many things were taken into consideration, such as mental and physical health, local unemployment, road safety and diet.

Blackpool in the north of England received the worst overall score at 76.5, making it the least healthy place.

The latest data was released this year by the Office of National Statistics and is based on health in England in 2021.

Kingston upon Hull came second, with a score of 77.5, and Liverpool was in third place, with a score of 79.9.

The scores were based out of 100 and Blackpool's overall score went down between 2020 and 2021.

A score of 100 represented average levels of health in England in 2015, showing the unhealthiest places had decreased over the years.

Blackpool had an above average rating for access to services, at 113.1. Access to green space was also high, at 104.9.

Its worst rating came for physiological risk factors, at 60.7, and mortality, at 64.8.

Kingston upon Hull was also above 100 for access to services and access to green space, but it ranked lowest on behavioural risk factors, which was 70.

Mortality ranked low at 74.4 and difficulties in daily life sat at 74.6.

This comes as another study listed the least healthy locations in the UK. It looked at different factors and Peterborough took the spot as the least healthy.
